Playtime - Light Games (cartridges)

Post by Red2048 »

Photos (homemade) for "Playtime - Light Games" cartridges.

Contains multiple language releases:
- English : base release "Light Games - LCD Color Cartridge".
- Italian : official Playtime product, imported by "Fantastiko" in Italy, released as "Projector - Mega Video Game".
- French : official Playtime product, imported by "Ideal" in France, released as "Projector - Cartouche".

Each game has its own directory and is labelled by its title in that language, the English titles can be found in the info.txt files in the comments field.

Thanks again. My priority is usual handheld and tabletops. The nintendo and Sony series discouraged ma a bit with that crazy amount of consoled en games. I will add them for sure soon. Maybe I will only keep this part of the site for everything except Nintendo and Sony :D . I think there are much better websites suitable for that.

I noticed no 1860 on your Knock Out box so I used that as model. Same for the others. Not sure if that is correct since Baketball and Soccer in italian have the same box fir instance. Looking at the back of the boxes there are 2 series of 6 games each maybe.

Also display seems to be CLCD (Color Liquid Crystal Display) foor all I suppose.

Yes, there are 2 groups, Sports and Adventures.

English release (13 games):
1860 is the code for the Sports games group.
1861 is the code for the Adventure games group.
The proper model-ID for each game (English) are:

Sports Series :
1888 - Baseball
1889 - Basketball
1886 - Football (American)
1892 - Karate Master
1891 - Knock Out
1887 - Soccer

Adventure Series :
1896 - Baja Challenge
1897 - Combat Invasion
1895 - Flaming Inferno
1899 - Ninja Attack
1894 - Stealth Fighter
1893 - Temple of Terror

.... - Auto Race ( has no model-id, the cartridge is included in the console box, wich has 1841 )

The model-ID's per game can be found in the manuals and in the Playtime catalogs.

--------

Italian release (11 games) :
58006 is the code for the Sports games group.
58007 is the code for the Adventure games group.
here 2 games are not released;
- Football (American)
- Baseball
but Auto Race ( Formula 1 ) did get released in a seperated box. ( the console box had no games included )

The manuals have no model-ID's per game.

--------

French release (11 games) :
here the same 2 games are also not released;
- Football (American)
- Baseball

Never seen a French manual.

--------

So, the code on the boxes can be ignored, it only specifies if its a Sport or Adventure genre.
For the none English releases, I bet its safe to assume the model-ID's stays the same. But if you want to leave these blank then that's ok.
For the English Auto Race, I have logged this as 1841 ( ID from the console box, but added a note that the ID is from the boxset, if this is left blank then that''s fine to )

Display is a standard (black) LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) without a silver reflective inlay, colors come from the transparant overlay.

Thanks a lot. Will update with this info soon.

I will fill in the model IDs with that assumption indeed. When proven otherwise I will change it.

Ok great.

BTW, the console box-set model-ID, 1841, you find this ID also on the PCB photos I did earlier today for the Knock Out game.

1841B-105
P N 35-1841-105
REV.1

I guess 105 ( or B-105) could be the internal production code for Knock Out ( Boxing ? ), now I'm getting curious what all the other PCB's have for codes... :geek:
